LRS Deadline May be Extended By a Month Cm KCR

LRS Deadline May be Extended By a Month Cm KCR
In a development that will bring cheer to people seeking regularisation of their lands, the State government is considering extension of deadline of the Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS) by about a month from the existing deadline of October 15. This will help those who were unable to submit their applications for regularisation of their properties in unauthorised layouts and plots due to various reasons.

Sources said the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department had already submitted proposals for extension of the deadline keeping in mind the huge response from people. Several elected representatives took up the requests from people to extend the deadline with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who is likely to make an announcement in this regard during the Assembly session on October 13 and 14.

While the initial response for LRS was not great, it picked up pace in later weeks and the number of applications sky-rocketed after the Chief Minister announced that regularisation fee will be collected based on the registration value of the unauthorised plots at the time of registration. The total number of applications have crossed the 10 lakh mark and if extended, can easily touch 15 lakhs. Hence, the proposal has been submitted to the Chief Minister for final approval,” an official told Telangana Today.

Though the officials declined to reveal the new deadline for submission of applications, sources indicated that it was likely to be extended by at least a month. As on Saturday, the State government received about 11.57 lakh applications including 4.66 lakh applications each from both gram panchayats and municipalities. Another 2.24 applications were received in municipal corporations including GHMC. Through application fee alone, the State government has earned nearly Rs 118 crore and the officials are expecting the scheme to be beneficial to both the public as well as the State coffers.  7 feet 6 inches Tall, Pakistan Spinner Aims to Become World’s Tallest Bowler

Young Mudassir Gujjar, a 21-year-old cricketer from Pakistan, is aiming at becoming the tallest bowler to play cricket. Gujjar is a giant of a man, standing at 7 feet 6 inches tall and hopes to overtake Mohammad Irfan as the tallest bowler to play international cricket. Gujjar was part of the player development program with Pakistan Super League side Lahore Qalandars last year and has been sharpening his skills to realise his dream of playing cricket for his country.

“My height is a blessing as I can run faster and be the fastest bowler,” he was quoted as saying by Mail Online. “I started training seven months ago to become a bowler but because of the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a pause. I hope one day I will be the tallest bowler in the world.”

The tallest bowler presently in the world is Irfan, but unlike the left-arm pacer, Gujjar is a spinner. There have been times when Gujjar felt out of place due to his height - having to get custom-made shoes and other equipment that would suit his size - but over the years, the 21-year-old has not only come to terms with it, but even embraced the fact that he stands at over 7 and a half feet.

“I was the tallest child in the school and in the neighbourhood. I was already six-foot tall when I was ten and by the time I was in high school, I was above seven feet tall. My parents were worried as I kept growing. They were not able to understand why I was growing taller than my siblings and if it will later cause any troubles for me,” Gujjar said.

Hyderabad Nightclub Sealed After Video of Crowded Premises, Flouting of Covid Rules Goes Viral

Hyderabad Nightclub Sealed After Video of Crowded Premises, Flouting of Covid Rules Goes Viral
A Popoluar Hyderabad Nightclub Sealed After Video of Crowded Premises, Flouting of Covid Rules Goes on social media.

The Telangana Excise Department raided and sealed the premises of the Resign Skybar in Hyderabad's Gachibowli area on Monday.

The action comes after a video went viral on social media last week showing Covid-19 guidelines being flouted in the club.
The video showed a huge crowd at the nightclub with none of the customers or staff maintaining social distancing or wearing masks.

The Covid-19 guidelines were flouted during a musical event hosted at the Resign Skybar.

Releasing a statement on the sealing of the nightclub, the state Excise Department said, "A prima facie perusal of the video shows clearly that the waiters and other bar personnel are not wearing face masks. Further, the crowd which is gathered near the bar counter is in violation of Covid-19 SoP. The bar management does not appear to be making any effort to clear off the crowd."
The statement also added, "It is obvious that the bar management did not follow the SoP for Covid-19 thereby putting their customers and staff members at increased risk of infection."

The nightclub has been sealed and its bar licence has been cancelled. Action has also been taken against the bar for having improper documentation and hiring people to serve alcohol without prior approval of authorities
