Telangana Govt Says 90 % Work in Secretariat Demolition completed
Ninety per cent of the demolition of the state secretariat was over and as many as 4,500 truckloads of debris is expected to be generated out of it, the Telangana government said on Monday.

The K Chandrashekhar Rao-led government began razing to the ground the secretariat building complex on July 7, days after the Telangana High Court dismissed a bunch of PILs challenging the state's decision to construct a new secretariat complex by demolishing the existing one.

The official information on the demolition came after some writ petitions were filed in the High Court challenging the restrictions on media by the State Government at the Secretariat demolition site.

"The government has taken up demolition of the old buildings and removal of debris of the Old Secretariat to pave way for a new building complex. Ninety per cent of the demolition works are over. It is estimated that there would be 4500 Truck-loads of debris. So far 2,000 truckloads of debris was removed," the release issued by the Chief Minister's office said.

Other works are going on. As a preventive measure, the government did not allow anyone into the premises, as there is a danger of accidents happening while demolishing the high-rise buildings. As part of this, media is also not allowed, it Deccan chronicle

In another Setback to China, Russia Suspends Deliveries of S-400 missiles

In another Setback to China, Russia Suspends Deliveries of S-400 missiles
Russia has announced suspension of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems to China and said the resumption of further deliveries is yet to be ascertained

Citing Chinese newspaper Sohu, UAWire reported, “This time, Russia announced the postponement of the delivery of missiles for the Chinese S-400 system. To a certain extent, we can say that it is for the sake of China. Getting a gun is not as easy as signing an invoice after receiving a weapon.”

“They say that the work on delivering these weapons is quite complicated. While China has to send personnel for training, Russia also needs to send a lot of technical personnel to put the weapons into service,” Sohu said.

Post-Russia’s announcement, China has reportedly said that Moscow was forced to make such a decision as it “is worried that the delivery of S-400 missiles at this time will affect the anti-pandemic actions of the People’s Liberation Army and does not want to cause trouble to China.”HT

First Batch of 5 Rafales Reaches Al Dhafra Airbase in UAE On Way to India From France

The first batch of five Rafelf fighteraircraft on Monday took off from France for India, nearly four years after the two countries inked an inter-governmental agreement to supply 36 of the multi-role jets to the Indian Air Force under a Rs 59,000-crore deal.

The aircraft flew out from the Merignac airbase in French port city of Bordeaux and will cover a distance of nearly 7,000 km with air-to-air refuelling and a single stop in the United Arab Emirates before arriving at Ambala airbase on Wednesday, officials said.

You can call them (Rafale) both beauty and the beast," said Indian Ambassador to France Jawed Ashraf after interacting with the IAF pilots at the airbase before they set off for India.

In the evening, officials said all five Rafales landed safely in Al Dhafra airbase in the UAE after a sortie in excess of seven hours.

The fleet, comprising three single seater and two twin seater aircraft, is scheduled to arrive at Ambala airbase on Wednesday when they will be officially inducted into the Indian Air Force as part of its No 17 Squadron, also known as the “Golden Arrows”, said an IAF official.

Unhappy With Bakri Eid Rules, Maharashtra Leaders Write To Chief Minister

Unhappy With Bakri Eid Rules, Maharashtra Leaders Write To Chief Minister

Unhappy with the Maharashtra government's guidelines for Bakri Eid celebrations, now less than a week away, a section of Congress leaders have urged Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to review the rules for the Islamic festival.

Congress leader Naseem Khan, whose party rules in the state in coalition with Mr Thackeray's Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party, has written to the Chief Minister to call an urgent meeting of ministers to review the guidelines.

According to the Standard Operating Procedures released by the government last Friday, online buying and selling of sacrificial goats as well as symbolic celebration of Bakri Eid, also known as Eid al-Adha, is being encouraged.

But Mr Khan said there cannot be any symbolic celebration for the festival, set to be observed around the world on Friday, and buying goats online is not possible.

"We want the government to rethink and call for an urgent meeting. This has hurt sentiments," the Congress leader

Normally, the Deonar market in Mumbai is the biggest hub where goats are bought or sold. But since the outbreak of the coronavirus and the nationwide lockdown, the market has been closed.

While the government has asked people to buy and sell goats online, many are left confused as the guidelines don't clearly mention any online portal that they can use. Many buyers are not technology savvy enough to carry out such transactions either NDTV

Government Bans PUBG & 47 More Chinese Apps in India After TikTok, 58 Others Banned in June

Government Bans PUBG & 47 More Chinese Apps in India After TikTok, 58 Others Banned in June
The government has banned 47 Chinese apps in India. Near the end of June, 59 Chinese apps had been banned by the government to “protect national interest and security” — including the hugely popular TikTok app. Now, almost 50 more apps have been banned, for operating as clones of the previously banned apps — the list of particular apps banned in the fresh decision is yet to be announced. However, it has been reported that the announcement would take place officially shortly. The government earlier banned apps including CamScanner, SHAREit, and UC Browser, among others. That ban was announced under the provisions of Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.

The 47 apps that have been banned by the latest decision of the government were operating as the clones of the 59 apps that were banned last month, according to a tweet posted by DD News. A report by India Today TV, citing government sources, said that the government had also prepared a list of over 250 apps that would be examined for any user privacy or national security violations.

It is believed that some top gaming Chinese apps including PUBG Mobile would be a part of the new list of banned apps. However, the government is yet to release the details pertaining to the development.

Hyderabad Male Nurse Develops COVID-19 A Second Time. Is that Ecen Posible?

Hyderabad Male Nurse Develops COVID-19 A Second Time. Is that Ecen Posible?

If you've recovered from COVID-19, does the virus bother you again? The case of a nurse at the ESIC Hospital in Hyderabad indicates that a second infection by the coronavirus is possible.

Last week, the male staff nurse tested positive for Covid-19, nearly a month after a previous test had declared him negative after he had been quarantined and treated for the infection.

The case has prompted concerns over reinfection among patients who had been declared clear of the disease.

This is the second known case in Hyderabad of a previously recovered patient testing positive for Covid-19.

The male nurse, in his early 30s, tested positive for Covid-19 at the ESIC Hospital in Sanatnagar during a random test on June 15. He was placed under institutional isolation and discharged on June 26 after a post-quarantine test certified him as negative. He went back to work

But last week, he developed a mild cough and cold, and was tested again. The test came back positive on July 20. Four days later, his wife, also a nurse at the same hospital, and their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter and his mother, tested positive for Covid-19.

The male nurse is astounded: “I was under the impression that once I got the disease and got better, I would develop immunity and never get it again.”

His second experience as a Covid-19 positive patient has been worse than the first, he said. “I was having very high fever, body ache. For two days, I required oxygen support.” He is still undergoing treatment at the hospital as are the rest of his family, he said.DC

Why Are MIM and BJP Silent on Demolition of Mosque and Temple? Shabbir Ali Congress

Why Are MIM and BJP Silent on Demolition of Mosque and Temple? Shabbir Ali Congress

Former minister  MD Shabbir Ali of Congress on Saturday urged the All India Muslim Personal Law Board to take up the issue of demolition of two mosques in the Telangana secretariat compound.

In another statement,  MLA Jayprakash Reddy of Congress Party  sought to ask why Asaduddin Owasi of MIM and Bandi Sanjay of BJP are not coming out with all guns blazing against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS-government for the demolition of two mosques and a temple in the secretariat premises?

Jayaprakash Reddy said that the BJP which is considered as a Hindutva party has also not taken up any serious agitation against the ruling TRS except issuing statements condemning the demolition. Owaisi who had not allowed relocation of mosques for road widening during previous Congress-government is now making statements strategically now and then but has not come out openly opposing the demolition of places of worship, said Jayaprakash reddy.TOI
