Milad un Nabi S.W. Celebrated in Hyderabad
Milad un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad S.W. Passed off peacefully in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the state on Friday amid elaborate security arrangements.

The faithful celebrated the day with religious zeal and fervour but spent less on the decorations. Shia Muslims, who also venerate and celebrate the Prophet’s birthday, celebrate on the 17th Rabbi- ul Awwal.

Processions were taken out to express devotion and reverence for the Prophet. A central procession taken out from the Quadri Chaman, Falaknuma, by various organisations under the banner of the Sunni United Forum of India. A large number of people, including religious scholars, participated in the processions.

Hundreds of youth took part in the processions across the city, holding green flags and raising slogans praising the Prophet. Few youth were seen carrying the National Flags as well. Stunt-riders demonstrated daredevil tricks on the roads during the procession.

Religious organizations held online meetings to highlight the message of the Prophet and organised 'Mahfil-e-Milad' in praise of the Prophet to mark the occasion. Khateebs (sermonizers) of masjids highlighted the life and teachings of the Prophet in Juma sermons. Religious scholars stressed upon the faithful to mould their lives according to the golden principles of Islam.

Muslims were given an opportunity to view the holy relics of the Prophet at different places, including Macca Masjid and different shrines in the city. Special dishes were prepared at homes and food to the poor.
