Incessant Rains Continue to Lash Hyderabad

Incessant rains continue to be lash Hyderabad with many parts of the city receiving moderate to heavy rains through Saturday night and continuing in the morning hours of Sunday.

The skies remained cloudy and with sun failing to make an appearance in the last three days. The vehicular movement remained little on the city roads with many preferring to stay indoors due to the rains.

Till 11.30 am on Sunday, Asifnagar received a rainfall of 6.8 mm, followed by Shaikpet (6.5 mm), Khairatabad (6.3 mm) and Madhapur (6.3 mm), according to Telangana State Development Planning Society.

The average rainfall recorded in the city on Saturday was 31.6 mm.

During the last 24 hours, highest rainfall in Greater Hyderabad was reported at Charminar (54.5 mm) and across the State, Venkatapuram in Mulugu witnessed extremely heavy rainfall of 224.5 mm.

Apart from Hyderabad, rains continue to lash several districts including Warangal Rural, Siddipet, Peddapalli, Asifabad and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri.

The weather warning with Met department indicated heavy rainfall likely to occur over parts of the State on Monday too.
