Municipal, IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has flagged off six ambulances that he has gifted to the government at Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday. These ambulances which will be put to use as Covid response vehicles were donated by him under the “gift a smile” initiative launched on his birthday on July 24.
While it was KT Rama Rao who mooted the idea of donating ambulances, several other party leaders and ministers came forward and announced more ambulances taking the total number to 100. They declared that very soon the other ambulances will also join the fleet. The plan is to have Covid response ambulances in all districts.
Through the gift a smile initiative the TRS working president has urged the party cadre and followers to do something that will bring a smile on the face of a common man rather than wasting money on celebrations.
