Doctors at State-run hospital help a days-old-infant and 94-year-old freedom fighter recover from infection

Despite the general advisory that elderly persons above the age of 60 years fall under high risk category for Covid-19 and usually struggle to recover from Covid-19 infection, the doctors at State-run Gandhi hospital have successfully helped a 94-year-old freedom fighter and a days-old-infant who is yet to be given a name, recover and get discharged from the hospital.

We are treating Covid-19 positive patients from 0 to 99 years. Many have recovered and went home completely recovered. A days-old infant has recovered and was discharged while 94-year-old freedom fighter has also recovered. Having a positive attitude and willing to put up a fight without panicking is a must to fight the ailment. We counselled the parents of the infant to remain positive and never give up,” Gandhi Hospital Superintendent, Dr M Raja Rao, said.

With the help of the hospital doctors, the 94 year-old freedom fighter from Amberpet, Soma Janardhan fought-back and recovered from the highly contagious SARS-CoV-2. Janardhan in a video thanked the doctors at Gandhi Hospital for taking care of him and motivating him to fight the disease.

“Although my infection was mild, doctors at the hospital encouraged me to remain positive and never give up. They were very courteous and took good care of me.” Soma Janardhan in the video said.T Today
