Covid Tests Private Labs Resume Services in Hyderabad

Close to a dozen private laboratories in Hyderabad, which had stopped taking samples from suspected patients for Covid-19 diagnosis, have now resumed their services.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), based on the National Accreditation for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) certification, had permitted 23 private laboratories in and around Hyderabad to conduct Covid-19 tests

However, a few days ago, some of the private laboratories had suspended Covid-19 diagnostic tests after inspection teams from the health wing detected discrepancies and deficiencies. After carrying out required modifications, close to a dozen laboratories in Hyderabad have started providing Covid-19 tests.

Individuals, who want to be tested for Covid-19, have to make an appointment and schedule a slot on the website of the private laboratories. There are some private laboratories, which are operated directly by corporate hospitals in Hyderabad and they are providing Covid-19 tests only to patients who are already admitted in the hospitals.T Today
